It was another exciting weekend here in Wellington. Mine began with owls, otters, and monkeys, oh my! Sara, Randy, and Kelly Hogan along with Clea Newman and Alexa Lowe hosted this years Wild Earth Allies “Wildlife in Wellington” event at Sara and Randy’s home. This event is all about celebrating and supporting wildlife conservation. Wild Earth Allies is a non profit that works in collaboration with local organizations around the globe to protect wildlife and the habitats vital to global diversity & sustainability. The organization has strong values built on optimism, cultural respect, shared learning, & integrity. They are a top ranked non profit on Charity Navigator, earning 4 stars (the highest rating) over the past 7 years with 94% of funds going directly to the cause. They run on a lean structure in order to make that possible. Not only was this event for a fabulous cause, but the animal ambassadors that attended made it a really special night! Some of their signature initiatives are to protect marine turtles, great apes, and Asian elephants; accomplished by longstanding local partnerships. They are also working on protecting threatened trees in the United States and contributing to reforestation.
